Dear Dickens Seminar Students:
Welcome to the blog for the class. I'm getting adjusted to this mode of communication myself... so bear with me, but I think we'll all find it very useful. I look forward to participating in exchanges with you... and reading your insights, exchanges, and observations.
Alan
Hey everyone, I just came across this in the Sunday Times and thought you might find it interesting.

Something interesting and a bit relevant that I discovered over the weekend as I was completing my reading was that nearly all of the readings I had to do for other classes had something to do with Dickens in general and the Pickwick Papers specifically. I'm reading Little Women for my American Children's Classics class and in the chapter I read this weekend, the girls were pretending to be members of the Pickwick Club. Also, in my Dahl/Rowling seminar, we are reading Roald Dahl's autobiography Boy. There is a section in that book where he talks about the Pickwick Papers as well!
